Sharing Findings and Co-Creating Policy Briefs

A stakeholder workshop brought together representatives from both public and private organizations supporting Ghana’s creative industries. During the session, ACIG researchers presented their main research findings and recommendations across five key sub-sectors: music, fashion, visual arts and crafts, theatre, and film.

As part of the event, researchers shared draft policy briefs summarizing key recommendations. These were discussed in break-out groups, allowing participants to provide critical feedback. Insights from these discussions were then integrated into revised versions of the policy briefs, ensuring they reflected diverse perspectives and practical considerations.

International Conference on Creative Industries in Ghana

ACIG also hosted a three-day international academic conference, bringing together over 60 creative industry experts from Ghana and beyond. The conference featured  30 paper presentations and two keynote addresses by Avril Joffe and Bernard Akoi-Jackson, offering a platform for cutting-edge discussions on the future of Ghana’s creative industries.

Art Exhibition: Rivers of Artistic Journeys

As a culmination of the research process, the multimedia art exhibition Rivers of Artistic Journeys was held at Antique Lemonade Gallery. The exhibition showcased artworks created during the project, including selected art pieces from three artistic workshops and three River of Life workshops held in Accra, Kumasi, and Tamale. Through a blend of visual storytelling and creative expression, the exhibition reflected the lived experiences, challenges, and aspirations of the artists engaged in the research.
